Introduction
The Information Technology Research Centre (ITRC) is a research Center funded by the Nile Center for Technology Research (NCTR) and located in Faculty of Mathematical Science – University of Khartoum since its foundation in 2008.
ITRC VISION
ITRC is mainly established to improve/enhance and localize the IT in the country.
ITRC Mission
Our mission is to increase our understanding of basic and advance IT fields to improve IT applications and services quality through research.
ITRC Objectives
- Facilitates research progress by providing expertise, resources and training to Sudanese scientists.
- Generates new knowledge in IT research studies to research community and to public.
- Provides technology-focused applications and services that increase productivity and enhance computing experiences.
- Build an IT environment that provides information access and sharing among sectors such as Education, business and government.
ITRC Structure
Information Technology Research Centre (ITRC) is composed from Adminisration and Finance Department and four reseach units which are:
- Network and Information Security (NIS) Unit.
- Open Source (OP) Unit.
- Software Engineering (SE) Unit.
- Cryptography (Crypt) Unit.
Current projects:
Now the research units are working to accomplish the following projects:
- Internet Protocol Private Branch eXchange (IP PBX).
- Virtual Private Network (VPN).
- Hospital Management System.
- ITRC Webportal.
- Cryptography Libarary.
Future projects:
- Intrusion Detection System (IDS).
- Wireless Sensor Network (WSN).
