Objectives

This workshop aims at popularizing open source products and solutions, and serving as an awareness raising venue.

A genuine objective is to contribute to the creation of a Sudanese FOSS community that would result in the creation of a repository and collaboration tools for open source applications in Sudan, including a database of open source experts.

Moreover, the workshop aspires to be a right step in the way of enhancing Research and Development (R&D) industry in Sudan based on FOSS technologies, particularly for localization and building the national operating system. Furthermore, an ultimate goal of the workshop is to facilitate the formation of the strategy that will dictate the use of open source software at the national level.
