The Information Technology Research Centre (ITRC) is a research center funded by the Nile Center for Technology Research.

It's located in Faculty of Mathematical Science – University of Khartoum since its foundation in 2008.

• To support action on enhancing IT industry status.
• To promote knowledge in IT research studies. 
• Generates new knowledge of IT, from investigating the current/recent technologies.
• Facilitates research progress by providing expertise, resources and training to scientists worldwide.
• Collects information and disseminates to the research community and to the public.
• Provide technology-focused services that increase productivity and enhance computing experiences

ITRC is mainly established to improve/enhance and localize the IT in the country. Mainly focuses in sectors such as Education, business and government.

The activities in grey color (see the image below) are the proposed activities yet to be allocated to the

center.while aothers are already allocated and established.
